it tuns out....:)

that the neutral wire at the panel was very loose. The screw was backed out all the way for this particular circuit. All's well now. Thanks for your advice on this!

funny thing is the voltage tester, indicates 115-120v from black to ground, but still open neutral

there are 3 recepticles in our kitchen that "trip off" by themselves. the circuit breaker in the main bus stays on. I put a circuit tester on them, and the lamps indicate that there is an open...

It's been about a week and the power in the kitchen has remained on. It does look like there is too much on this one circuit. We will have to split it up and add more 15 amp circuits.

The GFI's are on the same circuit and no they don't trip. Nothing trips. The circuit breaker looks normal in the main box. Simply we are in the kitchen, and the power goes and off goes the fridge....
