wild water temps

i have a 3 yr old bradford white(residential/40 gal) that was faulty when new(replaced entire clip on upper controller),which a yr later has begun to get too hot and trip the reset or run luke warm...

where you see the number 4(under "fan"),is a push peg...

i have an upflow oil furnace.the wiring diagrams are shaky.does anyone know how to wire in the "fan only" option?
