No luck there. It's an island divider so if I cut out the back I'd have to either add another inch to the back of the divider or have the dishwasher sticking out, which the wife wouldn't be to happy...

They are 23 inches I measured again. The home was built in 76 and the dishwasher is in a divider between the kitchen and dining room By the looks of the cabinets they were stick framed in place....
