With the ac on tap the sensor with a solid object thats on the compressor....it should kick on for a second....or for a while....if thats the case...you just need a new sensor....they are not...

Just an update....

Well....I went and checked out all of my fluids.....I was fine on everything except powersteering but I put some Champion fluid in there with Stop Leak.... I also disconnected the negative battery...

Replace the sensor...that's your problem....found one for $15 at napa for an 4.3L S-10....same sitution as yours and worked fine afterwards. Oh and your freon will not leak out so just pull it out...

Your cads could be bad or really clogged...
