It worked. I flipped it to "hand"/manual for about 75 seconds and the red alarm light went off. Of course, I'm not sure what it means going forward. I turned it back to auto. Any chance I "fixed" it....

Ok thanks. I don't know how long it ran in auto - good question. It has been in "auto" mode since we bought the house a year ago and I never paid attention to how long it ran.

What's the purpose...

Septic system: "hand"/manual switch

Hi,

My septic system alarm went off. Because it's the weekend, I can't get anyone to come and take a look at it until Monday, so I started to diagnose the situation myself. What is the purpose of...

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will get the soil tested. I'm guessing Maarkr is right because we have pine trees all around our house.

How often and when should I apply fertilizer? As...

Hi all,

My completely exposed front lawn is in dire straits - moss, bare spots, and weeds. The lawn around the house that is shaded by the woods isn't too bad.

In any case, any ideas on how I...

Question How to revive burned out lawn

Hi,

I just moved about a month and a half ago. The house has an irrigation system that I didn't realize was still functional until a few weeks ago. I'm starting to use it. But with the heat (I...

patching up a hole in the ceiling

Had to cut a square hole in the ceiling (approx 10" x 10") in order to fix some piping. Can I use the same piece of sheetrock to patch it back up? If so, how best would I go about doing this?

Ok, I am going to cut a hole as advised. Any reason why I should go joist to joist? I can see the pipe I believe is leaking with a flashlight and I could probably cut a smaller hole and fix.

Thanks for the idea. What do you mean by "hear anything?" Do you mean see if it initiates the leak? Also, I don't understand what you mean by the fact there may be more than one drain in question....
