Probably a mis-drilled screw hole, if you can get to it maybe screw a short sheet metal screw into it. And seal it with a little silicone sealer on the screw before installing it.

No, Bronze bushings have been around forever and will last just as long if not longer than roller bearing. And yes the grease trick works well for removing them.
