Ive been told that its best to drive in a ground rod near a drainage soak away or somewhere where theres a lot of moisture in the soil..
Well the problem is that the land here is practically solid...

Cross lining is only important if another paper is going on top..Its just to avoid the lining and finished paper`s seams meeting..
You must prep and flatten and size the walls first before 1000...

Stripping the paint completly from the ceiling is not gonna be easy...Dont forget that Gypsum plaster is pourous and would have soaked up the first coat..
I f I were you..I would rub it down as flat...
