could be a low water cut off.

if the low water cut off does not sense water it will shut off the burner.

when the water temp gets to a boiling point.

if you have a restriction in your zones the water heats up because of lack of flow thru the zone and the water boils causing a pinging sound. make sure your valves are open,

the differantial on your aqustat is set too low let's say less tha 10 degrees your burner will run more to maintain the boiler water temp. try raising the high limit to at least 180. or the chamber...

boiler over fired or high limit set too low

if the boiler only runs for a couple of minutes it could be over fired on the high limit is set too low.
