Yeah, that shouldn't be an issue. The top of the box should land around 6'2" off the floor, which should put the center of the handle around 4'8" from the floor.

Thanks.

The covers are hinged on the top of the boxes, so that shouldn't be an issue. I plan on mounting them high enough where I can stand underneath the open covers on the transfer switches,...

Is this for 2011? The 2011 NEC 310.15(B)(7) doesn't read exactly like that. I only have the print version, but it reads: .... 120/240-volt, 3-wire, single-phase service-entrance conductors,...

Question Working space/mounting requirement for manual transfer switches (quick question)

Hello,

So, I couldn't really find any specific details on this, but, are there any provisions around the working space for a manual transfer switch, where the switch handle on the exterior of the...

Thank you for the input and review :)

I thought that 310.15(B)(7) only applied to the service entrance and not sub-panel wiring... I will probably use 3/0 anyway since it can't hurt, but, if I can...

Move branch circuits to new sub panel, add transfer switch. Opinions requested

Hello,

So, I'm planning a large off-grid solar project as mentioned in a previous thread here. All will be permitted/inspected/etc. I have a decent bit of experience with all of this, but, can...

Oh dang, thanks. I completely missed your earlier suggestion, sorry!

As for mounting it near the two 200A panels I'm not 100% sure that is possible without moving the panels much further than...

I think I may try to find an enclosure that I could mount the block in along with two 200A OCPDs on the output side. Not sure if that would be required... but it'd make me feel better about the...

Wow, that is fantastic. Would be perfect for my project, assuming using three of those (one per phase + neutral) in a junction box would be permissible under code.

1 day? Definitely not using 170kWh per day... probably closer to 80kWh per day at the top of the mark, which gives me a minimum of two days. In practice probably more like 3-5 days.

Keep in mind...

Good call. I'll stick with the two 200A panels on the home loads for sure, assuming it's doable. I was thinking I may need the 400A for the AC Out Bus, though. See below.

Splitting the load...

Question Converting residence to Off-grid solar power, how to handle 56kW inverter output

Hello! Hopefully I don't sound too crazy here. :)

Long story short, I was able to acquire a large amount of solar panels (~30kW) along with seven relatively new stackable 8000W off-grid...
