bad check valve?

IIRC, the storage setup posted (aqua-booster) should have a check valve somewhere to make sure the circ line doesn't allow cold water to dilute the hot. Is there a check valve somewhere and is it...

I would suggest a visit to the Taco website and determine the cartridge pump that has more head capacity. I believe the 008 pump can handle a restrictive heat loop better and not be too expensive...

Oil heats best

A good CAST IRON oil boiler is what I would strongly consider. Suggest a Biasi or Buderus, but both of those require a storage tank (indirect) for hot water....which will add some serious $$ to the...

I've seen many multi-furnace setups run from the same oil tank with separate or a common shared line. If it were my choice, separate lines for each burner and NO WAY use rubber anything for oil line...

Is it calling for heat?

That control only responds (burner runs) when there is a call for heat. Jumper T-T terminals and the burner should fire (B1 terminal will get power as well as C1).

It takes a good amount of manual force to put the valve in manual overide mode, there is a 'heavy' spring in the valve body resisting the overide.

See how old the zone motor is, there is a date...

Small home, single zone......if a 007 circ can't do that, there has gotta be something wrong.

All kidding aside, I bet I changed out 'bout a hundred B&G 100's over to 007, no issues whatsoever.

Oil heats best!

I'd go with a quality the small (compared to what you got now!) oil boiler your company will put in.....3 section cast iron unit IMO.

If the house has 77k of heat load (baseboard capacity) that...

That 7284 control needs to be programmed for 'furnace' mode and configure the 't-t' option accordingly. I've had that happen to me when i didnt set the control properly, as it is now, internally...

Rapid cycling on and off as I interpreted your description indicates a bad primary reset control, replace it with a R7284, waaayyyy better than than that R8184m model.

My experience says it's the burner motor, especially if it wayyyyy old. Of course, there is a bunch of other things that could create the same reset issue you got, so no guarantees.

This part seems 'off':

B1 from the aquastat goes to the black and red wire on the 7284 primary; this assumes there is no oil solenoid valve on the fuel pump.

Said another way, the power to...

I believe you don't have the endswitch in ZVC wired to the T-T terminals on the boiler aquastat. Wired correctly, the ZVC will tell the boiler aquastat to run the circulator once the zone valve is...
