Non-latching doorknob?

Hi, somebody must make a non-latching doorknob -- it would allow you to push open the door without turning the knob? I guess I could take a grinder to the back of a latch but I'd rather buy one :)

PEX in contact with expanding foam

Hi a friend was doing some sheetorcking for me and I noticed that he sprayed some expanding foam directly on some pex pipes. I read online it's not a good idea to do this, but how critical do you...

Selling table saw: 240 or 120 volts?

I'm going to be selling a table saw and it is currently set up for 240V. Do you think I should rewire it for 120 before advertising it since most people are more likely to use it on 120V?

Thanks!

Oven bulb is unshielded?!

We got a new range a while back, and the oven bulb burned out after what feels like a short time. (We don't use the oven that much.)

Anyway, I was surprised that the oven bulb is unshielded! Just...

Can I fish BX through a very low, dry crawlspace?

I'd like to run some power in my old house in a low, dry crawlspace. I was thinking maybe I could fish BX through it and leave it on the dry ground?

If this is not a good idea, is there any other...

Thanks, Chandler. I went up a ladder to take a pic and realized that since the vents have angled louvers they should be fine at a 60 degree angle!

boiler size

Hi, a long time ago I replaced the boiler in my mom's old house. The old boiler was a 400,000 BTU monster. I used a heat-loss program which said we needed about a 300,000 BTU boiler. We installed two...

That's the funny thing-- the aquarium is about 10 feet away from the thermostat. But since I set up the tank, the other rooms on that zone have been a bit cooler.

This is probably a dumb question, but I recently got a 75 gallon fish tank.
It is near a thermostat and is throwing it off. I think I should move the thermostat, do you guys agree?

Thanks,

Hi, I recently replaced a thermopile, and I was wondering, what do you think the average lifespan of one is? (This was on a millivolt system, BTW.)

Thanks,

Grundfos pump gasket

My Grundfos circ pump gasket seems to be leaking. Can I use one of those "old fashioned" flat gaskets or do I need to get the "O" style that grundfos ships them with?

Thanks!

Adding zone to full boiler controller

Hi, I want to add a zone to our heating system, but our Taco SR503 is full and doesn't seem expandable. Obviously I could just replace the SR503 but is there a sneaky, cheaper way?

Thanks,
