If its under warrenty , who cares whats bad, but when its not I refuse to pay $200 on a service call for a $500 heater.Best of luck! The thing that reallly sucks is that when these heaters work good...

Its cool that hayward was such a help but that test would tell me that either the ignitor is not getting hot enough to sense a flame and /or the burners are dirty near the ignitor and it is not...

Just an off the wall Idea , but what if you shut off the gas, pulled the igniter and ground it and then hold a propane torch to it and see if the gas valve stays open. I forgot to mention peviosly...

I finally got it!! I hope. I took off the control module thinking that I was going to replace it. I noticed that the pin plug in for the wiring was loose(solder cracked and separated from the board)....
