How about this? I take the first light switch that doesn't work, which is in the kitchen near the C/B panel, and disconnect all wires. Then I use a long wire and check continuity to the fartherest...

take readings

I have somewhat of a similar problem. Could you take a meter and read across power to neutral then each to ground for voltage and continuity? I get 3 volts from (power) black to ground but no voltage...

The lights and outlets on a single circut were going on and off on their own then quit for good. This went on for a couple of days before it quit for good. Breakers look OK but no power. Older...

No Luck!

The outlet under the house was not protected, at least at the outlet. But it was working OK. There were 2 more protected outlets on the outside of the house and they both tested OK. One bathroom's...

Gfci

Yes, I had looked at the GFCI sites. Even have some nice diagrams. Well, the bathroom GFCI receptacle works fine, so you are probably right about where to look.

One thing I read was that if the...

have been reading!

I read that a CFCI can stop current for an entire circuit. I also read that a large fan is not recommended on this type of circuit, which was running when all of this started. Thursday I will check...

In testing the outlets I used the 3 light tester, which had no lights light up on the failed recepticles, but had 2 yellow lighs on the ones that work. I also used a digital volt meter to check for...
