What is a cbu? So if I understand correctly, Hardibacker or Wonderboard followed by radiant heat than slc to create a nice smooth surface to lay my tile?

The kitchen has vinyl floor now that I will remove and put down a layer of Hardibacker or wonderboard, I have a basement so below that is wood probably plywood and wood subfloor.Thanks bouch1989
