Siemens does not make a 45 amp QP breaker so the best I can do is 50 amp - unless, as you suggest, I change out the disconnect box to something with a 45 in it.

Suggestion? Is it worth it?

The heat pump installer used NM cable I had not seen before: the 3 condutors were #8 but the ground was #10.

Is this OK? Just a move to shave a little cost off?
