If you decide to use brackets I would advise that they be heavier than the ones usually found in the big box...

Sounds like running another circuit would be the best answer.

As Pete said, the 15 amp circuit you have must stay at 15 amps unless you replace all of the 14 ga wire or cable with 12 ga.

Unfortunately with #14 wiring you are limited to protecting it at 15A.
You cannot upgrade to a 20A breaker.
You'd need to replace it with #12 in order to increase the breaker size.
