Sorry guys, but I'm not buying this is any sort of antenna. You don't run #14 (or larger) wire for an antenna! This was some kind of A/C electrical connection.

You should have a meter to see if it's live. You could use a neon tester if you have one, they're pretty cheap if you don't.
