Thinking about that idea I don't think it will work. I guess if I really need it to work I'll have to make sure box 1 and 2 are on the same circuit. There not heavily loaded circuits in a living...

Yeah... what if I don't have power to box 1 but steal some power from box 2 through on of the 2WG's from it to the fan box. The result could be a 4-way scenario but with 'power at the fixture'...

What if it turns out that I can get power in box 2.. would their be any advantage to using the extra 2WG going to the fan box...

OK. I'll have to check. Would you mind indicating where I would a 4 way switch versus 3 ways and confirm which lines go where? In text is fine. I'd need a 4-way in box 2?

I had simplified the scenario a little bit. Box 2 and Box 1 both are bigger than represented as they each have 1 more switch that runs an outside light ... all 3 boxes are by room exits.
