tub drainer/stopper detached from top lever

The house is about 55 yrs old.
The switch at the top of the (pink)tub moves back and forth, not up and down. When I pull it out, there is a curlycue at the bottom.

The spraying in the spoon idea is great.

jenn aire stove top knob is stuck in down position

and won't turn. Therefore causes burner to spark to ignite.
So I unplugged the stove top. I removed the knob and tried to pull up on the brass stem, it won't budge.
