SOS bridesmaid dress emergency!
Hi all!
My sister is getting married next Saturday and one of her bridesmaid's dress needs brought in at the bosom. She had had the dress altered at (what she thought was) a professional dressmakers but it was not done well. It gapes horrendously at the bosom. Is there a way we can pull in the top quickly? She doesn't arrive in town until wednesday night, which doesn't help, and none of us are seamstresses. My poor sister is hysterical. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

A suggestion...
I have a suggestion, but am not sure, without seeing the offending gap how it would work...
If you use elastic thread, you can take small stitches in the underlining part along where the gap is, and it may pull the fabric in enough not to gap.
Without seeing it, it is really hard to say if it will work, or even if I am taking the proper approach with the problem.
Do you have a good Dry Cleaners in your area? If so, they may have a tailor or seamstress that can help.

Hi, thanks for the response!
The biggest obstacle is that the wedding is only a couple of days away and everyone we have talked to has said that it will take at least a week for them to do it. I will pass on the recomendation for using the elastic thread, though. We are getting desperate!

Thanks!
We actually ended up pinning it to her bra and sewing little gathers in. It held up, which is more than I can say for the rest of the dress as all 3 of our dresses started to come apart at the seams!
We are all not impressed.
Well, the wedding was beautiful. What more can we ask?
Thanks again,
Shawna

Glad the wedding went well despite...
Shawna,
I am glad to hear the wedding went off without a hitch
I would, in your position, take the dresses back and demand at least a partial refund, if the quality was that bad. You paid for proper dresses, and if they were literally coming apart at the seams, that shows lack of proper craftsmanship.
Check with the bridal store where you bought them.
Good Luck and Congrats to the new couple!
