grommets/buttons

My wife wishes to remove a grommet in a jean jacket and replace it with a button.
How does she go about it
Thank you

What do you mean by grommet? A grommet is a metal circle with a hole in it (like what you might see on a shower curtain) so I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to.

Thumbs up grommet

I guess there lots of names for fasteners;I was going to send you aphoto through photobucket but I found a solution.
I have a nail puller which removes this fastener with no problem.
I will describe it anyway for future refence for others.
Grom the front of the jean jacket you see a penny size flat button - from the back side you see a smaller round piece with a stem on it which fits through the cloth and into a hole on the front larger piece.
I use my nial puller to seperate the two pieces with only a tiny hole in the cloth that this fastener made to begin with. She now can put a small backing piece on the jacket and then sew on an artistic real button.
Hope this helps and thanx.

OK, I thought that might be what you were referring to, but wanted to double check.
Glad you figured out a way to remove it and thanks for sharing.
