smoke smell in fabrics

smoke smell in fabrics

I got a bunch of quilting fabric ( squares ) at a garage sale for my mom and the lady who previously had them smoked inside her home, yuck, I know, I washed them twice with vinegar and lots of laundry soap, but the smell is still there any advice ??

Air and sunlight....hang them outside...out of direct sun.

Other than that, you might call around to a few places and see if they have an ozone machine that they could put the fabric in a bag and flood it with ozone. Would normally be a fire damage restoration company or similar.

Putting the fabric in a box or bag along with a couple dryer sheets, helps. Also wrinkle release sprays help.

We use OdoBan (purchased at Sam's club) for most odor issues, including smoke.
