Big Purchase Time? Janome 6500P?

With it being my birthday in the future, I think it's time to buy a machine that I have been admiring from a distance - the rather lovely JANOME MEMORY CRAFT 6500P.

As it's not a "budget" machine (to say the least...!), I thought it would be worth asking for some recommendations / warnings from users here. I have always used Janome machines and have never had any problems, but then again I have never spent over $1000 on a single machine before

Any thoughts you could lend me on this would be most helpful in the decision making process.
Thanks
Jenny

Hello and welcome to the forum! While I've never had a Janome, they are a good, reputable brand, and anyone I know that has one, loves and recommends them.

If they're expensive, that means they're good, so you can't go wrong.

I have always used Janome machines and have never had any problems,
There you go!

Thanks for the response!

I have had a look around online and it seems that it is a good machine, but has been replaced by a more modern one - the 6600. Similar spec, similar price, better functionality...

Been doing some research on this. This review of the Janome 6500P is promising, as are the ones at Amazon.

I think I know what I am getting for my birthday!
