hardwood floors?

We have stripped and sanded our hardwood floors, can we just put polyurethane over them now? We do not want to stain them. What is the difference between varnish and polyurethane??? How many coats and time in between? Do I have to do the floor all at once or just small sections? We are in Tx and it is hot and humid, any special things I need to know for this type of location? Thank you for any help!

Poly is harder than the old varnishes due to the new resins added.

I have 3/4" plywood on the floor now, for my bamboo floor but I've read in some "how to" literature that 1 1/8" is recommended. Is that just way overkill or could I run into maintenance issues in the future?Read More
