installing hardwood on concrete..need barrier between?

I just purchased Cryntel Heritage hardwood planks for my livingroom...Purchased at Lowe's, the sales guy said that I could just simply apply the glue to the floor w/out a moisture protecting underlay...is this true? The concrete looks pretty good, no signs of moisture etc....I spoke to another salesman in Home Depot and they suggested the barrier....HELP!!! I spent a bunch don't want to screw this up...Thanks for your help in advance

It sounds like an engineered glue down? Check my page on gluedown installations as all of your querstions should be answered.
