snap lock tile differences
I want to put a snap lock tile look floor in a new room. We have 2 choices at this point .. Either Formica brand fast lock or shaw versalock. Does anyone have experience with either. Is one lock system better? The difference in price is about $1 per foot. I just want the product that will be easier and the most reliable regardless of the price difference. More expensive does not always mean better. Thanks

I install floors. Alot of floors. Design them too.
There are alot of differences in locking systems between brands. For high traffic area i would not use either of these brands as they have not perfected their locking systems for longevity.
Quickstep owns the a patent on locking which uses a Mitotoyu machine to gaurentee a perfect lock everytime. some other brands licence this tech. from them or half licence it which does not require the same tools to build the lock.
If price does not matter look at some of the higher end laminates. Bruce(armstrong) builds great floors in their "Traffic Zone" lines.
Hope this helps.
