Question--Sanding hard woods
I am refinishing oak hard wood floors in a small bedroom. I'm using a small belt sander and am afraid that I didn't use a low enough grade of sand paper (I used 80). I'm going to have to go over it again. Should I use the same paper (80) or a lower grade on this second round?

Chris,
Unless you are an expert with a belt sander, you are going to have problems. Professionals use large disk or drum sanders and use atleast three different grits of paper or sanding screens.
For a small bedroom, you may get by with a 6" random orbit sander to correct your mistakes made with the belt.
