Laminate flooring

My daughter had a fire and wants to replace her floor. It is glued down to concrete. It is taking forever to get old floor up. Rented a tool that looks like a flattened hoe that is attached to a vibrating shaft (?) (air compresser). Any ideas on how to speed this up. 3000 sg ft. Worked two good days and got the LR finished.

If it is laminate it should not be glued down.
I assume you have a glue down wood. I know of no easy way to take this up. Keep the hoe sharp.
It takes a lot of blood sweat and tears.

Laminate over a "level" subfloor

I have $1500 worth of laminate floor sitting in a room that I think is ready to go. It is Mohawk Paramount flooring. I am a little nervous about just how level the subfloor is. The house is ~30 years old, with a little settling - some small sags between the joists, and a larger "hump" in one section of the room. I fixed the large hump by removing the 1/4" underlayment in the high section, beveling the remainder with a block plane, and smoothing with leveling compound. There is still a small gap when I lay down a panel in that section. If I step on the loose panel, I can hear it click against the gap. Do I need to fix this further, or will it be OK when all the flooring is connected? I can send plenty of pics if it would help anyone. THANKS for the help!!!Read More
