Thumbs down

i just had my hard wood floors done by professionals. i had the water based done and i asked if in the future i would like to get oil based they told me that my floors would have to be sanded down again.. i would not try to put oil over water because it can cause pealing... good luck...

Yes you can apply oil based over waterbased and vice versa but the floor must be fully cured and then you would screen and coat as normal. There are alot of guys that use an oil based sealer for the ambering apearence and then top coats with waterbased. Depends on how well the floor guy knows his products and how skilled they are.
