Wood Floor Finish
#1

We're buying our first home. Our inspector said that the finish on the hardwood floors should last another 7 years.
We're thinking of applying finish on top of what's existing before we move in, assuming that the additional protection would make it last longer than 7 years. (Presumably, refinishing the floors 7 years from now would be that much harder with all our stuff in the way)
Does this plan make sense? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What you could use is a screen and coat, providing the existing floor doesn't have a wax finish. In any event, make sure all older cleaners have been removed from the floor before you begin to consider anything as any new finish may conflict and have no proper bond.
Good Luck,
