Refinishing Questions
Just bought a home, roughly 1600 square feet. With the exception of two rooms (about 170 square feet) everything else is hardwood floor that needs to be re-finished. I am planning on doing this work myself but am not sure the time I should allow myself to do the work. I know the article on this site lists the times to be between 8-18 hours per room, which I can beleive but I am going to need to rent the sanders and the buffers. Can anybody list the amount of time I will need to do the sanding and then the buffing?
Thank you,

Rent the drum and edger 1st. Depending on the condition of the floor you will need to start with 36 or 60 on the drum and edger. Then progress to 60 and 80 then 80 or 100 on both machines. Take them back and rent the buffer. Screen with 80 or 100 which ever grit you left off with screen with that. As far as time we would have it sanded and have a coat on by 5:00 typical HO doing the job allow 1 day per room to sand then screen the whole thing vac and wipe and coat.
