Pergo Stair Installation

Hi there. We're putting Pergo on our staircase, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on the best way to do so. I know the flooring must be glued to the stairs, but which glue is best to use? Standard Pergo glue? Should it also be nailed to the stairs? For the stairnosing, what is the best way to secure that? Any other things we should know that we're not thinking about?

Any info. anyone has would be appreciated, or links to places which have good info.

I use Liquid Nails, or PL-200 heavy duty construction adhesive.

I have been known to add a brad in a hidden spot if I feel it is needed, just for my peace of mind.

I have approximately 500 sq. ft of laminate flooring, and have put about 3/4 of it down with no problem. Had to leave it for a week and when I have gone back to finish, I am having problems getting it to go down without leaving a space when you are tapping the boards up to one another. The only thing I can see is that up against the end of the kitchen cupboards I could shorten the board length there, because they are not at the staggered lengh of what they should be, would this make the reason why when I put the next board in that the seams are opening and not closing properly.Read More
