bamboo flooring

Has anyone had any experiances with "bamboo " flooring, good or bad. We are thinking of installing a tounge and groove laminate, bamboo floor. Will be installing it over the old pine flooring in a 70 year old house.

Because of the dimensional stability of the original pine strip flooring. It is "recommended" to install a plywood subfloor over the solid hardwood strip flooring.

It is also "recommended" to install the plywood subfloor, diagonal(45)to the strip flooring.
This makes it so no finished floor joints, land over the plywood subfloor joints.

just take the length of the plywood and run it opposite the length of the hardwood, screw and glue and you will be just fine.Perfect world no cabinets or door jambs or corners for that matter then diagonal maybe by the time you get done puttingin all the little peices and filling in the screw ups you're better off just laying perpendicular to the hardwood that is there

Ya, so true. Very seldom we have a perfect world.
I must try too dang hard then.
I should charge less and make it not so perfect.
