Laminate Floor Problem

I have approximately 500 sq. ft of laminate flooring, and have put about 3/4 of it down with no problem. Had to leave it for a week and when I have gone back to finish, I am having problems getting it to go down without leaving a space when you are tapping the boards up to one another. The only thing I can see is that up against the end of the kitchen cupboards I could shorten the board length there, because they are not at the staggered lengh of what they should be, would this make the reason why when I put the next board in that the seams are opening and not closing properly.

sounds like it may be a moisture problem. Was the air on ?Do you have a dehumidifier in the house? If so turn the air and the dehumidifier on and see what happens over the next day or so
