Installation over carpet

We've recently purchased a house and have decided to remove all the carpeting and replace with laminated floors throughout. Part of the house was carpeted with a very low pile. Is it advisable to lay the laminate flooring over that or should we remove the carpet and proceed with the underlay?

Oh ya, you have some work ahead of you.
Renting a mechanical gluedown carpet removal machine, might save you some blisters.
You are still going to have to scrape the floor, to remove the adhesive residue, or use a chemical, since your not gluing something else down.
