hair color and wood floors

Does anyone know how to get hair color off a wood floor without ruining it?

Try mineral spirits. Soak a wash cloth and rub with the grain.

Hair Color

My wife dropped hair dye on our Oak floors last year after they were just refinished. Ours have water based poly on them and nothing in the world would get the color off the floor, ended up lightly sanding off the clear and a small amount of wood, followed up with some water based clear and it looks fine. Take your time sanding and apply light coats when you reapply the clear, after about 6 months the whole thing blended back together, good luck.

Start with denatured alcohol, then go up to paint thinner, then naptha, lacquer thinner, then MEK. The last two have a good chance of damaging the finish, particularly MEK. The worst that will happen is that you will have to sand out the area and retouch.
