Concrete subfloor prep - remove paint/primer too?

Hi all,

I'm about to install engineered wood floor over concrete and had a question regarding sub-floor prep.

It's going to be a glue-down installation over a concrete subfloor. I undertand the concrete needs to be level, clean and moisture-free, but the painters left primer and paint all over the floor with their sprayers.

Will I have to sand/grind that all off as well? Or will removing the big chucks of plaster and paint be enough? Is there something I can use that'll clean it all off, like scrubbing the floor with paint remover?

Thanks!

Yes that needs to come off the surface, but realize some is soaked into the pores of the concrete. Get it down so you see the top of the concrete and smooth. You may still have some residue in the pores.

Don't even think about a chemical remover!!! It will also debond your new adhesive fromthe concrete.
