removing thinset before refinishing wood floor

We have just popped up old tile, in preparation for refinishing the oak floor underneath. The tiles were the kind that are connected by a nylon type mesh. The tiles are off, but some kind of thinset or concrete looking stuff is remaining in patches on top of the wood. Can the floor refinisher's regular professional sander get this off, or do we need to something else to remove it first?

Thin set and leveler can be sanded off . Some will charge extra for this service. you are better off useing a floor scraper to try to get as much off as possible before it is sanded and finished.
