cleaning hardwood floor

We sanded our old hardwood floor a month ago and were just able this week to get someone to replace the bad boards. We have now sanded them too, but by now the floor has a buildup of dirt on it. What can we clean it with before we stain it? Thanks

Cleaning hardwood floor

Unfinished hardwood that has ground in dirt will have to be resanded.

Cover the floor

Once you sand the floor the wood is open. If you can't use a sanding sealer or polyurethane right after you sand it then you've got to cover the floor to protect from traffic. Use construction paper or red rosin paper. They are both sold at Home Depot or Lowe's and cost about $8 per roll.
