My Slab Foundation has cracks
I have a 25 year old house in Texas. The house has slab foundation with a sunken living room. Along an outside wall of the living room there are cracks where mositure has come in. In general, the floor has hairline cracks. I now need to replace the carpet. Is there a sealant that I can mop on or paint on the concrete prior to installing new carpet that will seal the floor? I've been on the web and there are a great number of products listed. So many in fact that I'm confused as to what would be best. It isn't like I have standing water but I would like the floor to be sealed prior to putting down the carpet.

Fort Worth. Don't know if it needs to be leveled. Assume it doesn't, Do you know what product would be best as a sealant? It was really just a thought. Maybe I shouldn't be doing anything at all. The intent was more along the line of preventive maintainence than to solve a current moisture prolbem. I've managed to stop any sign of water leakage for now. I just thought it would be a good idea to put a coat of somethng down now rather than after I install the new carpet.
