Lightbulb Laminate floor in washroom?

I used to think the moisture & possible direct water spill may no tbe a good idea for laminate floor. But someone suggest that the quality of the laminate floor these days can withstand such 'torture'. Is it true? Has anyone tried that?

That somebody was wrong, and uneducated about laminate and the paper core it is made with. It is much like particle board when it gets wet.
