pergo presto laminate flooring broken on tounge edges

help i just bought new pergo presto laminate flooring. the tounge seems to be broken off on the one end. on every piece. the man at home depot told me its made that way.does any one know if this is true or not?

Are you expecting to find a tounge on both ends?

Tongue and groove

There should be a tongue on one end and a groove on the other, just as there is a tongue on one side and a groove on the other on planks.
