threshold problem with flooring

I am putting in laminate flooring and have gotten to the end, which of course has a doorway to the garage. The problem that I discovered is that the doorframe looks like one of those one piece numbers that are just fitted in. The bigger problem is that the metal threshold juts out into the floor and doesn't come apart from the frame. I am laying on top of the old linoleum, which buts right up against the frame. I don't see how I can get the flooring under the threshold. How do I get it to not look stupid? The only thing I can come up with is cutting the board as closely as I can to the threshold and living with a visible gap. Any one have suggestions?

Under cut the metal with a diamond blade.

OR

Cut the metal threshold back even with the doorjambs and finish off the laminate with an endcap molding.
