I have done plenty of reading but still unsure.. I have a home i am going to be selling in about a year. I want to install laminate flooring over existing ceramic tile on my first floor. I have visited many stores and just feel that people around me are giving me misinformation or just bs. I want to go the cheapest route and have something that will hold up for 1-3 years. I have very ugly tile now and feel this would make my home less marketable. Any suggestions for purchasing online.... I'm in Miami FL... there's a local store (floors today) selling laminate flooring for .69 and .99 cents a sq ft. I'm just concerned about the stories I hear about the snapping, carackling and popping ...thanks.

I recently removed a 3x3 foot section of oak hardwood flooring strips from the bottom of my steps. The section was the landing for the steps and now is level with the original flooring. I was able to find the 2" strips i need to replace this section but i don't know exactly how i go about installing them. The section that needs to be replaced is against a step goign upstairs, one step going into the familyroom,a wall and the last is matching up to the original flooring. Were do i start and what should i use as a edge for the step leading into the family room. :wall:
