how to clean adhesive from pre-finished hardwood flooring

A contractor recently installed Bruce hardwood flooring (5/16" engineered - The Natural Choice) and got LOTS of adhesive on flooring. Two days later when he tried to clean it off with Bruce adhesive cleaner, FOUR hours of work (on small area of room) removed very little of the adhesive.

Would appreciate advice on next step. Are there alternative methods of cleaning that would be more effective, yet safe for the finish? Does exposure to adhesive cleaner for hours damage, dull or change the finish of the flooring?

The next thing to try, is to tell the contractor to buy new wood and start replacing boards that have glue on them!!!! Seriously!!!

If it is all over the place ask him to purchase enough wood for a replacement floor, and come tear out the firewood you have on the floor now. If he refuses it is time for a legal letter of intent and prep for a court case.

After 2 days, there is little that can be done, except board replacement or a complete replacement. Just as your contractor(uneducated about the installation he performed) found out, as he was unable to remove it, was he??

Sorry!!!
