Install laminate floor on existant ceramic tile
Hi everyone,
We bought a house with my wife this week.
We would like install laminate floor in the living room & dining room.
The only thing, today there is ceramic tile with carpet in the middle of the room (ugly !!!!)
I want remove the carpet and cover the hole with wood.
After that install the laminate floor.
Do you think i can leave the ceramic tile or remove it ?
I think in the case or i leave the ceramic tile i will put between the ceramic tile and the laminate floor, an underlayment.

so the the area your going to laminate is MOSTLY tile? if its mostly tile and just a little carpet, then yes, take out the carpet, install wood level with the tile, then lay padding and laminate.
in other words, its acceptable to lay laminate over tile, but still use an underlayment!!
