Installing Pergo over tile
#1

I'm thinking about installing Pergo laminate over my ceramic tiled floor in my kitchen. Can this be done? Also, how hard is it to install? The Home Depot is charging me $1100 without installation, $2400 to install!

$1100, must be a large kitchen. The installation charge seems a little high to me.
I helped a friend install laminate flooring in his dining room recently. This type of flooring is one of the easiest to install I've ever used.
Follow the instructions that come with the flooring and you shouldn't have any trouble getting great results. The only tricky part is getting the correct amount of adhesive in the joints. Too much and the boards won't seat properly, too little and you won't have good water repellant at the joints.
If you run the boards at a 45 degree angle to any light source such as a patio door, you won't notice the seams so much.
