"Which is better" questions never have a simple answer. Each product has a reason for existing.

3/4" nail down is better.

JJ, 3/4" solid hardwood is the Cadillac of wood floors. If you take good care of it, it can easily last over 100 years. The down side is that it isn't as dimensionally stable as engineered hardwood, an important charicteristic when moisture is an issue. Also, for people who have concrete subfloors, engineered harwood is much easyer to install than 3/4" solid.
