Just pulled up carpet and I'm looking to level my concrete subfloor. What is the best way (quickest drying)to level? ANd how long is the drying time? I'm in southern California if that is helpful. Thank you!

Tico:

Why are you attempting to level the floor? What type of new floor covering are you planning to install? A few more details may help us in sending you in the right direction.

RudyMark1,
It is not level. It is off about 1/4". I will be placing 3/4" plywood over the slab then 3/4" Pre-finnished hardwood. i hope this helps. Thanks!

I wouldn't be concerned here as general substrate variances for hardwood is 1/4" over a span of ten feet. Considering you are using both plywood and 3/4" solid hardwood, either one or both will "bridge" any small amount of uneveness.

If you're still concerned you could use a fast setup material such as Mapei Plani Patch. Read the directions carefully as this stuff hardens in a bucket within 15 minutes, depending on conditions.

Good Luck
