Sealing gap between molding and laminate floor

Sealing gap between molding and laminate floor
I have a laminate floor in my entry hallway. There is 1/4 round running along where the floor meets the wall. I would like to seal off the little gap between the 1/4-round and the floor to give it a cleaner look and seal the little gaps. I was thinking of some sort of clear caulk (polyurethane?). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use for this? Or if this is even advisable?
The floor is a few years old so it should be well adjusted to the location and conditions.
Thanks

I use clear silicone II. Seems to do the trick pretty well. I put some in a rental house 3 years ago and its hanging in fine so far. There's probably something more professional but I'm not sure.
